Zapata Falls

Couple photos from the neighborhood…

It had been awhile since I made the excursion to the waterfalls near the Great Sand Dunes National Park.  A previosu blogpost showing photos of the frozen beauty is from 3 years ago (Feb. 9, 2014) Near Zapata Falls, Southern Colorado (couple photos)

Photos from March 6, 2017:

Always lovely in the winter.  No one there and the creek’s frozen:

It’s on the slopes of Mount Blanca:

View north with the Great Sand Dunes NP and the northern Sangre de Cristo mountain range (Crestone’s at the foot of the highest peaks):

To avoid driving straight into the blinding sunset, I swung by the park briefly.  Frigid blowing winds…

Cheers! :-)
