If this Blogpost Were a Rifle, I Would Have you* in my Sights…

surveillance – drones – war – robots – NSA – social media – totalitarianism – government – control – technology

Surveillance Technologies are one of the fastest growing areas of the technology of political control  […]   The technology also parallels political shifts in targeting so that instead of investigating crime, a reactive activity, the fastest growing trend is towards tracking certain strata, social classes and races of people living in red-lined areas before any crime is committed.  Such a form of proactive policing is based on military models  […]  it is possible to quickly build up a comprehensive picture of virtually anyone by gaining electronic access to all their records, cash transactions, cars held, etc.  […]  Such powerful forms of artificial intelligence need continuous assessment.  […]  The danger is that their [sic] infrastructure is essentially a massive machinery of supervision that can be retargeted fairly quickly should the political context change.”   ‘An appraisal of technologies for political control’, published by the European Parliament, 6 January 1998 (PE 166 499). {Oh! – Side-Note:  “The hedgehog” (see last post, HERE) has reportedly landed and is currently on a mole-train deep underground.  I’m waiting to hear from him…}

This is the first blogpost I write with “our robotic overlords” also in mind.  It’s that time…  I might touch on the myriad documented forms of mind control by advertising, public relations, government and media outlets, but I meant that you*, in the title above, may rather refer to a robot reading this, perhaps the one which is about to be HOUSED HERE at the National Security Agency‘s mega-computer-base in Bluffdale, Utah:

Wired Magazine:  Once it’s operational, the Utah Data Center will become, in effect, the NSA’s cloud. The heavily fortified $2 billion center should be up and running in September 2013.

  • I highly recommend you watch these (first three) news videos:

The above rather basic informations barely touches on how far the NSA, DARPA or the NRO are at with actually implementing and integrating all kinds of ground-breaking highly advanced Artificial Intelligence technologies (like THISTHIS and THIS), and autonomous and self-guided weapons networks (see HERETHERE, HERE and HERE).

If I’m not mistaken, in our life time, autonomous flying militarized robot-drones will not only fight future wars, but also strike down anyone who refuses to comply to inhumane or simply insane government dictates.

That’s just to sketch ‘the context’.  Obviously, I got a little carried away viewing and reading up the latest in surveillance and police state developments…  But I tell myself that’s okay, ’cause it’s been over a year since I gave attention to this topic (big mistake, yeah, I know, but somehow ignoring the news DOESN’T seem to make it go away…).

Well, old news, but just now, I came across a list of trigger-words reportedly used by the National Operations Center (NOC) to monitor social media, taken from the Department of Homeland Security Analyst’s Desktop Binder.

hat tips:  First place I saw it was on ‘IntelHub’, a self-described “Civilian Intelligence Agency”: http://theintelhub.com/2012/05/26/target-on-your-cyber-back-dhs-has-a-list-of-words-deemed-suspicious/, which in turn linked to our beloved controlled opposition outlet, ‘Russia Today‘: http://rt.com/usa/news/dhs-list-suspicious-words-302/, which (of course) failed to link to the actual source: the Department of Homeland Security Analyst’s Desktop Binder, which you can download in PDF from the fine folks at Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC, http://epic.org/) who used the (US) Freedom of Information Act to bring us the following pile of paranoid-delusional waste of taxpayer funny money:

http://epic.org/foia/epic-v-dhs-media-monitoring/Analyst-Desktop-Binder-REDACTED.pdf   (-> DHS trigger word list for social media monitoring starts on page 20).

The list is absurd if they were after ‘terrorists’; as illustrated by FKN NEWZ, http://www.fknnewz.com, an outlet of satirical Ill Informed Rumours & Comedy Half Truths, which parodied the word list in the first part [minute 1:40 – …] in this May 31, 2012 f’k’n newzcast:

So… Obviously I shouldn’t have had coffee after 2pm, ’cause that keeps me up really late… and that tends to translate into blogging… ;-)   I thought I’d be asleep by now.  It’s already been a long evening of article-glancing and video-watching.  But, still awake…

I now wonder if I could write a blogpost that would use up every word on that DHS list, writing only things that are true to the best of my knowledge, and add some info along the way…  I’ll run as far with this list as it takes to fall asleep.  (The full list can be found in the above document, or here in easy copy-paste format here: http://www.animalnewyork.com/2012/the-department-of-homeland-security-is-searching-your-facebook-and-twitter-for-these-words/).  The words in brown supposedly are prioritized for monitoring:

When I try to put myself in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)‘s boots, I think  I too would be pretty tempting to monitor social media, cause when domestic security is truly threathened, people will seek help online, making it one avenue to assess the emergency situation.

If, for instance, a radioactive plume leaked from a nuclear facility (like THIS Spent Fuel Pool #4 scenario?), with deadly radiation overwhelming local law enforcement, may require information not available in other ways. Let’s say the authorities who were supposed to provide disaster assistance for such an emergency (the cops, National Guard, FEMA, Red Cross, various disaster medical assistance teams (DMAT), etc.), are somehow stranded/stuck in the disaster.  Let’s say I were responsible for the emergency management.  To come up with a response to the incident at the facility, as well as deal with the deaths and what not, I’d probably want to put together an emergency task force.  Aside from locating nuclear hazmat suits for whoever’s going to be the alternative first responders, and declaring a state of emergency, I’d aim to immediately start addressing the compounding critical infrastructure collapse, all kinds of related public health issues and the necessary mass evacuations.  To get the additional data on domestic nuclear detection (from individuals who’re sharing their findings online), perhaps to know how the toxic cloud is moving, you’ll want such “intel” wherever you can find ‘m.

One place to watch for reports of serious exposure sympthoms is online, especially in social media.  Clues like, “Everyone in the house feels sick.  It feels like flu, but it hit everyone so suddenly, like a wave, about a half hour ago.  The Police and the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) aren’t answering calls. Anyone know if it’s the nuclear facility, or whether there’s been some kind of hazardous material incident?”  That would indicate the time the cloud hit that home, which could be key to figure out evacuations, recovery, etc.  You know what I mean?  I don’t think it’s all PER SE as big brother-ish as it can sound, but it raises concerns, eloquently voiced here by Rep. Patrick Meehan (R-PA), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence (below) at a hearing titled: “DHS Monitoring of Social Networking and Media: Enhancing Intelligence Gathering and Ensuring Privacy.”:

DHS monitors words like “exercise” and the number “2600“?  Why not 2601?  Even agriculture, water, pork, metro, smart, China, port, delays, and gas are listed as words to be on the lookout for.  Clearly, it’s just the result of very thorough brainstorming for specific cases, to be used only in specific circumstances.  Now… I can sure make up some “specific circumstances” that are just as plausible for which that list comes in just as handy as it would for more legitimate disaster response.

There’s obviously a lot more to these agencies than responding to some nuclear threat, hazardous industrial spill, or an actual terrorist attack (if sinister elements within the higher echelons of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) didn’t instigate some Al Qaida terror attack or conveniently targetted violence themselves, in the name of national security, or something…).

Perhaps they could need to assist the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in finding out who’s exposing strange facts about some formerly benign swine bug suddenly turned air borne and human-to-human, and worst of all, this new antiviral-resistant pandemic strain of H5N1 somehow ended up in small pox vaccines destined for Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.  (See this RT newscast, “Swine flu is a man made virus ?,” for an example of what would also set off monitoring alerts).

Alexander Higgins has a counterterrorism feed that includes many of such trigger words: feed://blog.alexanderhiggins.com/tags/counterterrorism/feed/, of which this is just one example:

Feds Charge  Man As Enemy Combatant Supporting Terrorism For Uploading YouTube Video, Subjecting Him To Permanent Imprisonment, Torture, And Lethal Beatings Without A Trial

Point is, the US government is involved in some very heavy sh*t, which -if one were an outsider– could be easily “misinterpreted” (ahem … ahum) for being state-sponsored terrorism, as well as preparations for who-knows-what… stuff they would rather keep people ignorant about (I think).

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), for instance, will probably be brought up in social media discussions when people talk about FEMA’s (more sinister than a suspicious packet, if I may say so) network of nationwide prison camps. (huh… but thát isn’t on the list?)

Check out this recently leaked PDF Department Of Defence document: “Internment and Resettlement Operations” dated Feb 2010: http://www.uaff.us/USArmy-InternmentResettlement.pdf

If you get the idea that perhaps the 1983 “V – the Mini Series” is playing out in real life, and this just-mentioned manual was created by and for …disguised reptilian aliens… who’re here to harvest humans for their interstellar adventures, then I invite you to ponder the following chart as if it was really meant as a menu:

SOURCE : http://www.uaff.us/USArmy-InternmentResettlement.pdf
PS: they’re not kidding, but I am.

I watched ‘V’ as a 11-year old or so, when growing up in Belgium.  CHECK OUT this truly well-done (only 8 minutes screening) great summary and commentary of this awesome science fiction classic, and the theme the narrator communicates lays out:

But, no, seriously.  Not seriously about aliens eating us (unless as a metaphor in which ‘alienation’ is killing our humanity, but that’s a whole other topic…); Seriously: about this leaked manual.  It has some pretty crazy stuff in it, illustrating where things are heading quickly.  Remember it’s relatively new, from 2010. See this excerpt of the May 4, 2012 article, “More Treason: Internment Field Manual Instructs “Identify Political Activists” for “Indoctrination”, by Ralph Lopez on Daily Kos [their emphasis]:

And that brings me to…  Okay, I’m falling asleep at last.  I had picked some more words from the list to play with, but I’m letting your imagination take it from here:

I think I’m going to dream about... hmmm…

PS:  The title of this blogpost was inspired by the lyrics of a 2002 song (then during the Bush regime, but it seems to apply rather strangely to the following puppet(s) too) – I haven’t heard it on the radio in a really long time: “I have seen the enemy” by David RovicksLISTEN TO IT HERE – (http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=111310&content=songinfo&songID=757030)

Peace out.  Sweet dreams…
