The Planet VENUS

After the Solar Eclipse of May 24 (see my viewing-through-CD photos, here), the next major astronomical event is the Venus Transit (June 5th for the Americas, June 6th for Europe). LOCAL DETAILS, below.

  • Partial Lunar Eclipse: June 4, 2012

First, on June 4, 2012, there will be a Partial Lunar Eclipse, visible in Boulder Colorado at in the morning @  6:04 am (starts a bit before).

As you can see from the Wiki graphic to the left, it won’t be the most spectacular of lunar eclipses, but if you like getting up early (in Colorado or so), look west towards the setting full moon at 6am.   Click Image for excellent tool to find out lunar (and lots of other info) from Berlin-based Rodurago.net.

  • Astrologically speaking:

There’s so many articles (and rambles – just use a search engine for endless choices).  I picked these for you, below.  Just click on the image to see the whole article:

[added during the Venus Transit: Came across this on Facebook, and LOVE IT:

Written by “Govinda — with Shakti Shannon, Connie Beckman Ainlay, Annelise O’Doherty and 53 others, and already shared over 11,111 times, it starts with “Who else is feeling the energies around the Venus Transit coming up on June 6th, 2012?

Venus passed between the Earth and our Sun on June 8th, 2004, and initiated an eight-year cycle known as the “Venus Transits”. The Venus Transits cycle is a rare celestial event that occurs every 113 – 130 years, when Venus eclipses the Sun two times – at the beginningand at the end of an eight-year period. The second Venus eclipse will occur on June 6th, 2012. Astrologically, Venus represents our relationships with others. Communication is a major factor in all of our relationships.

Whenever Venus eclipsed the Sun in past recorded history, there was a major breakthrough in communications. For example, at the time of the last Venus eclipse in 1874, the Transatlantic Telegraph Cable was completed that created the first intercontinental communications by wire between the East and the West. In 1761, another year of a Venus eclipse, there was a collaboration of astronomers at 77 observation points from all over the world to determine the distance from Earth to the Sun.

In our relationships with others, it is good to let them know how much we appreciate their being in our lives. Let’s be thankful for all of the qualities that we enjoy in others and let them know how much we appreciate them. Remember that what we appreciate, appreciates.

The most effective way to accomplish self-understanding and personal mastery is through our relationships. We can monitor our process of personal mastery of our egos by observing our interrelations with others – are we experiencing conditional or unconditional love?

Compassion opens the door to unconditional love. Unconditional love is supported by seeing the Divine in others and acting in integrity with love. Our relationships with others are our greatest gifts, and integrity is vital for each relationship to work. Do unto others what you would have them do unto you. It helps to ask, “What is the highest good for all concerned?” The higher good for all can be perceived in your heart from a feeling of love.

    For closing, Venus Art… ;-)

–> The Birth of Venus (in Italian: Nascita di Venere), a 1486 painting by Sandro Botticelli:

From Wikipedia: “[…] For Plato – and so for the members of the Florentine Platonic Academy – Venus had two aspects: she was an earthly goddess who aroused humans to physical love or she was a heavenly goddess who inspired intellectual love in them.

Plato further argued that contemplation of physical beauty allowed the mind to better understand spiritual beauty. So, looking at Venus, the most beautiful of goddesses, might at first raise a physical response in viewers which then lifted their minds towards the Creator.

A Neoplatonic reading of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus suggests that 15th-century viewers would have looked at the painting and felt their minds lifted to the realm of divine love. […]”
