Mt. Finlayson in Goldstream Provincial Park

Just outside of town, great place to go hiking.  The most challenging trail in the park is the Mt. Finlayson Trail, an (at least) two-hour, roundtrip, strenuous hike that begins among massive 600-year-old cedars, climbs out of a Douglas-fir forest and passes through groves of arbutus (=’madrone’ in the US) and oak before getting considerably steeper on its way up to the mountain’s 419-m/1,375-ft summit.  Beautiful views.  Couple photos I took there:

Meanwhile I’ve lost some 7 Kg (15 lbs) since I left Utah over the summer.  If I keep this up, in a couple years I’ll be able to fly…  ;-)
